December Mass

posted Nov 28, 2016, 4:22 PM by Latin Mass Society of Northeast Missouri
Oh what glorious news! We have been able to work out the details & Father Dylan Schrader's 4:00 PM, Sunday, December 18 Traditional Mass will now be a 'Missa Cantata' (Sung Mass)! This will be the 1st High Mass at St. Rose of Lima in at least 50 years. Father Robert Fromageot, FSSP will again travel from Quincy. This time, he will lead the Gregorian Chant & polyphony music. Local voices will join Father. (We still could use more people volunteers to sing. You only need a good singing voice. Father will coach you through the rest) There will be incense, holy water & beautiful music!

IN ADDITION, (if that isn't enough) Father Schrader has agreed to perform a Traditional Rite Baptism after Holy (High) Mass. Little Lucia Agnes Barton will be the 1st person baptised at St. Rose in 'God only knows' how long. We'll be hauling the Baptismal font down from the choir loft & cleaning it up for the Baptism.

Holy Rosary will again be prayed 20 minutes before Mass. Food & fellowship, as usual, after Mass & Baptism. What a blessing! Thank you Holy Mother, Mary!
